Regional UIL Speech Champ
Places 3rd at State Meet
May 2

Jacksonville High School Senior placed 3rd in Prose Reading at the State UIL Contest. Also pictured is Ginger Lustig, JHS Speech Teacher and UIL Sponsor. Congratulations!

Hard work combined with talent are paying off for this Jacksonville High School student. The regional UIL champion in Interpretive Prose is busy preparing for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) state meet set for May 2, at the University of Texas in Austin.
These photos were taken at a recent after-school practice session in which the story “Stuck in Neutral,” by Terry Trueman, was presented. The piece is told from the viewpoint of a young teenager with Cerebral Palsy who graphically describes life from within his paralized body.
Ginger Lustig is the Communications teacher at Jacksonville High School.
