Click image to view a slide show of the Spelling Bee.Jacksonville Middle School announced the winners of the JISD Spelling Bee. Trophies were awarded to the top four finalists and one alternate. The winners will compete in the County Spelling Bee on Friday, October 12 to be held at Rusk Middle School.

Students in Linda Brown and Ann Jones eighth grade ELA classes began practicing after the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. Teachers and students used the Merriam-Webster SPELL IT! Tricks and Tips for Spelling Bee Success as a resource. Twenty students with the top grades were chosen from Mrs. Brown's and Mrs. Jones’ classes to compete in the JISD Spelling Bee.
