January 2006
January is National Technology Impact in Education month. In recognition of this event, Superintendent Stuart Bird announced at the January 23 Board Meeting that JISD is initiating a program whereby JISD awards a “21st Century Teaching Award” each month to a JISD teacher who is exhibiting innovative and creative ways to use technology in classroom teaching. The first award was presented at the board meeting to Mrs. Kristi Barrera who teaches Pre-Kindergarten at West Side Elementary School.
